I am trying to get this large KCPL system figured out, maybe I am thinking to hard about it but need advice.

Syscode 10.0000.00000111
10.0000.00000101
10.0000.00001101
10.0000.00010111

The NID would be 1 for all of them, then Area and site would be ?

Thanks, I am new to DSD+

I'd go with an area size of zero. That makes the site numbers:

10.0000.00000111 [8]
10.0000.00000101 [6]
10.0000.00001101 [14]
10.0000.00010111 [24]

after rereading the DMR Text file and some thinking I have figured it out and it jives with what the uniden scanner was saying the sites where. Thank you for the input

this should be right
Syscode=

10.0000.000 00111 Model=large NID=1 Area=1 Site= 07
10.0000.000 00101 Model=large NID=1 Area=1 Site= 05
10.0000.000 01101 Model=large NID=1 Area=1 Site= 13
10.0000.000 10111 Model=large NID=1 Area=1 Site= 23

You are adding 1 to the NID and Area fields, but not the site number fields? You must be consistent. 00111=site8.

Ok here are 3 more sites I can hear this morning Uniden says they are sites 4 10 and 1 in that order.... so they really should be 5 11 and 2???

10.0000.00000100
10.0000.00001010
10.0000.00000001

Yes, your Uniden is wrong.

What's your Uniden going to report for 10.0000.00000000?

Site zero?

Hytera TIII site numbers range from 1 to 1024. That's 1 to 10000000000.

A system using the huge model allocates ten bits for the area and site numbers, but 10000000000 (1024) is eleven bits, so obviously they subtract one from the value and send that over the air. So all zeroes is site #1 and 1111111111 would be site #1024. And everything in between is also shifted.

What's the most common syscode out there? It's 10.1100.00000-000

Why? Because those are the defaults and techs setting up a single-site system typically don't bother to change them.

Default model: Large (10)

Default NID: 13 (1100)

Default Area Size: 5

Default Area: 1 (00000)

Default Site: 1 (000)

So yes, your Uniden is wrong. Somehow, the firmware writers figured out that they had to add one to the NID and Area fields, but dropped the ball on the site number. Go figure.

makes sense I appreciate the response. Before long I will get this figured out.
