Looking for: Automatic Audio Switch

I am looking for a software program that will switch from one feed to another if the audio on the secondary feed starts.

Ie. Line IN - Scanner
Mic In - Weather Radio

By default the scanner will always be running but if the wxradio goes off I want the input to switchto the wxradio until it stops and then go back to the scanner.

There is a programmed called Winquack which will mute a the audio on a wave software application if the line in starts running and then go back to the wave application.

I am trying to do it with two external sources.

Even a hardware switch would be cool..

Years ago I constructed a scannermate. I found all the info in an electronics magazine. It would start and stop a tape recorder when the radio received transmissions. I was going to build another one to do what you are wanting. Instead of turning on and off a recorder I was going to use a relay to switch two radios between one speaker. You could set this up this way using the relay in its idle state to send audio from one radio to your line in and when the other radio receives a signal have the relay do the switching. The relay would be in place of the recorder.

You can use the circuit I posted yesterday for a carrier detect on the WX radio:

and use it to drive the relay in the circuit I've posted here. Don't forget the protection diode.
