Download IZ8BLY Voice Descrambler online, get a 1/8" to 1/8" mono to mono cable and plug one end into your scanner headphone jack, then plug the other one into either the line in or microphone jack on your computer. Open the program, set the right Hz and enjoy, you will be listening in no time.

just wondering how this works, like when i use it, with my W2A, what do i punch in for the frequency?

Just come from the scanner's external audio jack or headphone jack
to the input of the circuit. From the output of the circuit hook a speaker.
Just enter the frequency you want to listen to on your scanner.
This circuit only cares about the audio, not the frequency.

ok, i got a Icom W2A and it is UHF.VHF,
i put a plug into my radio, into my comp, and then punch in what the frequency is that i want to encode?

this is not illegal i am sure, but i dont want to scan through some encrypted FBI freq and get busted

what can i use this for?

The circuit does NOT use a computer program, all it does is invert audio.
(speech inversion)
What you do with it is up to you. 8)

Come from the headphone jack of your radio to the input of the circuit.
It take normal audio into the input and the output will be inverted audio,
If you have inverted audio going to the input the output will be normal audio.

Its that simple, nothing more.

oh i am sorry, i have the computer program, it is the IZ8BLY Voice descrambeler, that is the one i am making the reference too, i am sorry, ummm, do i use this the same way?

I have no knowledge of the computer program, so I can't give any advice
there.
I just thought you wanted to invert audio without the computer, so my
mistunderstanding as well.

I hope you find what you are looking for in reference to the program.

Someone needs to make a Voice Inversion Descrambler that automaticaly turns on and off so you can hear un inverted and inverted stuff at the same time (without having to manualy turn on and off the inverter). And it will automaticaly choose the right Hz for the signal, so you don't have to manualy change the Hz for each channel.

I wish there was something out there that was like this.

You don't need to enter the audio frequency as it is hi lighted there just move the arrow keys up and down. Thats it!

I tuned it in on a local communication and so far everyone I have
come across that uses speech inversion, the circuit does pretty good.
I have never tuned it after the initial construction and so far 3 counties
are able to be inverted back to normal audio.
(with the exception of one county that constantly moves the freq when
they invert. About every 1 second it moves up or down slightly)

Ok, I have another question, How much did it cost you to make? And where did you get the components to make it with?

Some components I already had such as the speaker and 9 volts battery.
But as for the rest of the items, I went down to the local electronics
shop and luckily they had the parts. If I remember correctly the
cost was just under $10 dollars, the bulk of the price being the
audio transformer, IC chips., and multi-turn potentiometer.
Took about 2 hours to build and mount into a small box I had laying
around. (I also mounted the speaker in the box)
I bought a DPDT switch to bypass the cicuit when the audio isn't being inverted.
When the transmition becomes inverted, I simply throw the switch
and it put the circuit into line with the audio.

I have had no trouble except having to replace the battery from time
to time.

Cool, can you tell me how big it is? I can't build this by myself since I am only in high school and don't understand half the crap on the schematic, but I am pretty good with a soldeiring iron (I just need a good soldeiring iron actually). Actualy it would be pretty cool if you could post a picture of it. Thanks for the help!!

BTW- Soldeiring irons are expensive, I want to get a butane one, but they cost almost $200 :shock: :shock: almost as much as my BC 246T!! :!:
