Freescan works with the 396XT...use it all the time with mine.

The OP is referencing a 396XT, which FreeSCAN can easily program. Not sure where you got BCD536HP.
If you are a premium Subscriber, then, with the proper software, you can import (download) frequency & system information from the the main database/
I am wanting to program my Uniden trunk tracker 4 and need to know what software is required. It has been a while since I done it and can’t remember if it was free scan or not. So if someone could let me know I would appreciate it very much.

What model scanner? FreeSCAN should do it. HP1 requires HomePatrol Sentinel.

FreeSCAN doesn't seem to be available on the regular site. The link takes you to sign in on Google Sites. The Radio Reference Wiki needs to be updated.
freescan is eol and proscan is much better and only costs 50 bucks for life with newer versions every few weeks.
Plus its author, Bob @ProScan is an active member on these here forums and is always willing to lend a helping hand
