Ocean County EMS-1 (155.2050 MHz (PL 186.2 Hz)) has great range. Also try Monmouth County Fire-1 (154.4300 MHz (PL 151.4 Hz)).

Why, thank you
Wait till the simulcast gets on-line. Talk about flame throwers.

You might want to try these Bayshore Area (Northern Monmouth County) towns, located on the Raritan Bay, that seem to have a pretty good output. I get them real good, to the south, in the northern part of Ocean County so you may be able to pull them in there.

Atlantic Highlands Fire/EMS Dispatch - 154.745 - PL 151.4
Keyport Fire/EMS Dispatch - 154.055 - PL 156.7
Middletown Twp. Police - 156.210 DPL 464
Middletown Twp. Fire/EMS Dispatch - 154.295 PL 151.4
Middletown Twp. Fire 2 FG - 154.235 - PL 151.4 (not quite as strong)
Monmouth County EMS 1 - 155.175 - PL 151.4

As for Monmouth County Fire 1, since they went to simulcasting off of the repeater towers, it doesn't seem to come in quite as strong as I did before here, but you still may be able to pick it up.

You may want to take into consideration any tall buildings in the area that may negate reception. i don't know how much of an effect, if any, they would have, but you can give them a shot.

Mon Fire 1 is still on 154.430 MHz 151.4Hz
Mon EMS 1 is still on 155.175 MHz 151.4Hz

More and more towns were switching over to County to provide their Fire /EMS dispatching. With the invention of the automobile, allowing responders to travel and work in other parts of the large county, they were missing calls. Fire/EMS agencies were only being paged out using the closest tower to their district. Now with simulcasting, someone in Highlands can be over in Tinton Falls and still get their Fire/EMS page. As mentioned, the audio quality and strength has since diminished. There is a tower next to Twin Lights Highlands, so you may be able to pick up Fire 1 and EMS 1 from NYC.

Oops!! My mistake. Atlantic Highlands FD/EMS dispatch - 155.745 PL 151.4. Thanks for catching that. I'm unable to change the original post as "Edit" doesn't appear at the bottom for some reason.
