I am in the market for a new high quality discone. I am in need of replacing my current one which is a Nevada (or Sigma) brand. My spending limit is around $100. Features I am looking for are; an N connector, a low band element, everything SS, solid SS elements, no press fit screw tips on the elements.
I am still doing my homework but I have been eyeballing the following:
Diamond D130J, Icom Ah7000, another Nevada or sigma (like the one I have), one carried by Scannermaster (unknown brand), super discone by antenna warehouse.
The antenna warehouse claims to have tx range down to 10m band and has a longer low band whip than others. but has a so-239 conector. All the others seem to have the same short low band whip which isn't really all that good IMO.
Any comments or suggestions welcome,
