Mods - If this is the wrong forum for this question, pleas move it to the appropriate one.

I listened to NOAA radio (162.55) for an hour and they didn't mention the hurricane at all. It is not projected to hit or affect the NYC area at all, but I was expecting some kind of specialized coverage.

Are their any frequencies that I can tune into that will have dedicated coverage of Hurricane Matthew, or at least part of the program dedicated to coverage and tracking?

You could use the live feed for Broward,Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee, St Lucie, Brevard, Volusia counties in Florida, if its not going to hit NYC then they probably wont cover it, what exactly are you looking for?

I had assumed that there would be some radio coverage with an audio version of this that would be updated at regular intervals.

I forgot that I had the Broadcastify iPhone app. I'll check out some of the live feeds for Florida cities that are in the direct path.

I'll still be playing with my scanners as it is more fun to pick up something over the air. :)

If you're still interested in Hurricane Matthew coverage and you have a SiriusXM account, you can tune into continuous coverage as referenced in their blog:

"As a public service, SiriusXM has teamed up with The Weather Channel to provide their live coverage on Sirius Ch. 184 and XM Ch. 1 until the danger passes, on both active and inactive radios, starting October 6 at 12 p.m. ET. Updates on the storm can also be heard on Fox News Headlines 24/7 (Ch. 115)."
