Looking for ideas for 2m and 70cm for beach

I'm looking for ideas for a 2m and 70cm antenna to either mount on top of a beach umbrella or on my beach cart. Something that needs no ground wire/radials. Doesn't have to be really tall. I"m open to all suggestions.

I have to check the umbrella this weekend to see if it has metal ribs. I know the cart is metal come to think of it.

Think about it. If that umbrella has metal 'spokes', you've got radials. Too long? Not really, just 'tune' the thing. Even if they aren't metal, how hard would it be to glue small wire along them? Then depending on how the thing it made, run the feed line down the pole (inside it?).

I would use a Jetstream JTB-2 8ft tall. $60 from R&L Electronics.

This is a good opportunity to build something unique. Even a NMO mobile conversion would work nice on the top of the umbrella.

My umbrella is only plastic inside. My wagon is metal and has a metal mesh grate for a floor. I run flag poles on the wagon. What if I use this simple jpole VHF Slim Jim J-Pole 2 Meter Antenna roll up jpole!! | eBay and mount to the top of my highest flag pole (The USA flag naturally) and let it hand down the side of the wooden or pvc pole?

So, which do you think would be better. The mag mount mounted on top of my wooden/pvc pole or the jpole hanging down from the top of the pole? I decided to use my wagon. 30"x48". It has a metal mesh bottom.

I worked the Space Shuttle from a twinlead j-pole. So naturally I vote.... J-pole!

VHF/UHF Slim Jim J-Pole For HT 2m 70cm Antenna 16' Coax | eBay works and absolute treat. It's also very inexpensive and you can check out the review at eHam this thing is pretty doggon nice. If you want a decent antenna you don't have to fiddle with and just screw into your HT for example, the Diamond RH77CA or Comet CH75 are also nice choices.

Don't mean to pounce here but you can hook up these antenna's let's say just about anywhere and they will will get you places? Somebody mentioned to me put a tribander on my roof but not really sure if I want to start climbing,drilling,and running mad coax!! To be able to do more of a inhouse setup would be nice!!
