I'm having trouble searching for local codes pertaining to the height limits of antenna towers in your backyard. Does anyone have any idea where I would look for that sort of information?

I've tried a couple of strings in google, but nearly everything that appears to be pertinent, is almost always some official city notice of some business putting up an antenna. Is there a place online that might have the actual laws and codes listed?

Your best bet is just to call the local zoning commission office and see what they tell you. Unless you live in a hood with a homeowners assoc. then you will have to see if they also have rules on it.

Are you a ham? There may be some exemptions if a local community has a height rule and you are installing a mast or tower for 'amateur use'. How high are you going for? I believe anything not exceeding 12' above the roofline is ok if you have no covenants.
