Hi. I am hoping to buy a VHF/UHF Magnet Mount antenna online. I am hoping to find one that has the mount and antenna, but does NOT have any cable already attached to it. In other words, I want to use my own cable (BNC). I am having trouble locating this online, and was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I do have two antennas already. Tram 1098 and Whistler WMM-460. I may try to figure out how to replace the coax on the WMM-460

Not sure I'm understanding what you are looking for here….

You say you want a mag mount that does not have coaxial cable so you can install your "own cable(BNC)"

Again, not sure I'm fully understanding what you are asking for, but:
You can buy magnetic mount antennas with coaxial cable with a BNC connector on the end.
You can take one of your existing mag mount antennas, cut the connector off and install your own BNC connector.

If you really want to buy a new NMO mount and install your own connector, you can buy one of these:
I ended up with some of those at work many years ago. The NMO mount can be removed by taking out two screws on the underside of the magnet mount. That gives you access to the underside of the NMO and you can solder your own cable on. But you'd cut off perfectly good cable with a BNC connector on it.

Am I missing something?

If you don't mind buying a separate antenna, you can usually find magnet mount NMO
but will have cable and BNC connector.
They do sell just the magnet with provisions for some various mounts.
What cableless mounts I have found have no magnet but some form of connector like SO2399.
Some low profile mounts have no cable and can be fixed to a magnet only.
Larson sells a magnet mount that has RG-58 cable and you can choose. the connector.
Like others, it is NMO
Not clear why you need your cable, 12 foot RG-58 works fine unless you are pumping more than 250 watts to the antenna.

Thanks guys. I should've been more specific in my OP.

The reason I was wanting a magnet mount antenna without the coax, was because both Mag. mount antennas that I have are only supplied with 12 feet of Coax, and they're both RG-58. My thinking was that if I could get one as I described above, I could supply a better (lower loss) and long cable without having to use a coupler and two different cable types. Hope that makes sense. I'm not doing the best job at describing stuff tonight lol.

Please purchase the Hustler Magnetic Mount Scanner Antenna with BNC Connector From "The Antenna Farm as Amazon is $50 which is "highway" robbery.
It should be known that nobody sells the antenna alone without the cable attached.
Years ago, Antenna Specialists was around and made in USA and IF my memory is correct, I believe they did sell one without cable, but I could be wrong here. The above antenna is the most reasonable priced without breaking the bank and "GREAT" reception on all bands, even 700-800 Mhz that my (3) villages of Eastchester/Bronxville/Tuckahoe here in Westchester County, NY now use as I was field testing a customer's Bearcat BCD996P2 about 3 weeks ago while going on a run for the news media.
Hope this helps you out.
Have a great May.
Best,
Bob (KB2GQK)

RG-58 isn't that bad for reasonable lengths. Even at higher frequencies. I've got about 50 or so mobile 800MHz radios at work, and they are all using NMO mounts with RG-58 of various lengths.

If you just want longer cable, you can get mag mounts with up to 125 feet of cable:

Or, if something like 17 feet will reach, you can get mounts with higher grade coax:
Here's a mount with 17 feet of LMR-195:

Unless you need a really long cable, or you are running way up in the GHz range, RG-58 will do just fine.

they are very nice mounts, but they'll cost you.

I'm told they'll do other connectors, coax, and lengths as well if the types you want aren't listed.

Does anyone make a Bluetooth antenna? LOL.

Sure. Finding a bluetooth device with an external antenna port would be the challenge.

Right, but does it have an FCC ID? I know it's sold on Amazon, but Amazon does turn a blind eye to the FCC stuff, usually. There's a ton of stuff that comes from overseas that doesn't meet the requirements.

The antennas are not really hard to find since BlueTooth uses 2.4GHZ, which is used by WiFi, ISM, amateur, etc.
