Input frequency to what? They're all simplex low band channels.

They use a duplex system much like the NYSP. Base on one and truck on another. Its all in the database.

GTR8000 seems to be confused on how a duplex system works. The subscribers transmit on an input frequency and receive on an output frequency. Yes this is similar to a repeater without the actual repeating.

DOT has some simplex channels however the main channels appear to be duplex based on the FCC database.

Duplex or semi-duplex? Full duplex would unusual.

Very few systems are truly a full duplex due to either T/R relays with multichannel bases or the limitations of backhaul. Semi-Duplex is far more common as you stated

Going back to the context of the OPs inquiry - The DOT "portables" are apparently the UHF units used by the flaggers so there is no connection to the low band split frequency system and no repeaters on UHF. This has been asked and discussed in pervious threads.

I am not aware of any portables on the low band system. The low band system is a mix of simplex and half duplex.
