hello everyone,
I've done some searching but I'm looking for some more input. I need to get a digital scanner as 90% of what I want to listen to is P-25. There is very very little trunking in my area however so that's not a big concern.
Ok so firstly, I'm on a budget and will be purchasing a USED model of whatever I decide on in order to save money.
Secondly, I plan to use it predominantly as a base unit, hitched to a Discone antenna mounted on my roof. I've heard if I go with a Handheld model I may have some problems.....is this true?
Lastly, I'm just looking for input on what models to consider, I've heard that the Radioshack/GRE models have better audio in digital than the unidens, but I'm looking for more opinions and input.
I'm in Littleton, NH (northern NH) and common frequencies are in the 150-160mhz range, also 450-460mhz range. There are some other frequencies scattered about that I'd like to listen to as well, but those two ranges are ALOT of what I want to hear.
Thanks for any input!!!!
