They're on the TRS, dispatched on the regular SSD channels. The only other freq to listen to is the local helo-2-helo freq of 132.1250.

BTW, Carmichael/Fair Oaks/Citrus Heights are on SD 2 when they're 2 channel north.

I'm a little new to TRS so bear with me here. When you say SSD, are you talking about talkgroups? The only SSD's I see in the database are 9424 SSD 17 Tac and 9456 SSD 17 Tac. Is this what you mean? Also, where is SD2?

SSD = Sacramento Sheriff's Dept.
SD 2 = Sheriff Channel 2 (8240)

STAR (the helicopters) operate on the normal sheriff dispatch channels.

*EDIT* Just looked at the database and didn't realize it was A, B, etc... banked. SD 2 (as it appears on MY Motorolas) is Sheriff A2 (if you look in the database).

SSD=Sac. Sheriff's Department

Particularly, SSD 2 (A2) is the 8240 Talkgroup. That is dispatch for your area. RolnCode3 can probably fill you in on the TAC channels that they commonly use for that area.

STAR and stuff

" Just looked at the database and didn't realize it was A, B, etc... banked. SD 2 (as it appears on MY Motorolas) is Sheriff A2 (if you look in the database) "

The whole A2 , A3, B4 etc bugs me.

(example)
8208 201 A1 District 1 & 4 - North/Central
8240 203 A2 District 2 & 3 - Citrus Heights/Northeast
8272 205 A3 District 6 & 8 - Central/South
8304 207 A4 District 5 & 7 - Rancho Cordova/East/Elk Grove
8336 209 A5 Records
8368 20b A6 Airport
8400 20d A7 Juvenile Hall
8432 20f A8 Parking Enforcement/Car-to-Car
8464 211 A9 Work Release
8496 213 A10 Arco Arena

You can pretty much disregard the A2, A3
The "A" is a zone, the "2" is a mode/channel

The whole thing is totally relative to how the particular radio was programmed.
One SSD radio's A2 is not the same as another SSD radio's A2
There is a loose standard in channel programming, but nothing's etched in stone.

Now regarding STAR's "aircraft frequency" radio traffic, I've also heard them on
122.875 & 122.8500

also, chp coptors in the sac area, use the chp blue frequency if you're interested in hearing them. usually it's comms between chp officers on the ground and the coptor in the air. they're quite active.
