Looking for the right scanner for me (NV mountains)

Hey there everyone! GMRS and amateur general looking to grab a scanner. I have a 30' mast and would like to put a proper antenna up there. Largely I'd be interested in listening to police, ems, frs, gmrs, and 2m.

Optimally I'd like something that can be powered by 12v or usb, basically not 120v ac if I can avoid it. I'd also be fine with handheld vs desktop if that's an option.

The statewide link you provided is the old EDACS system. Nevada is transitioning to a new P25 Phase 2 system. Nevada Shared Radio System (P25) Trunking System, Statewide, Multi-State I suggest that you click on Report and request that your thread be moved to the Nevada forum. The members there will be better equipped to provide you with the information you need.

Being in the mountains, don’t think simulcast would be an issue. I would recommend the 325P2. There is one for sale in the for sale section. Works good on the road. It will have simulcast cast issues where multiple antennas around a big town. Enjoy mine.
