Yaesu: Looking to add a new desktop or headset microphone to my Yaesu FTDX10.

You might be able to cobble something together. Or, you could buy a Heil headset and adapter and get on the air.

I've been using a Heil Pro Set Elite with my Icom 7600. Pro Set Elite | Heil Ham Radio | Amateur Radio (You'll pay less from a dealer than what they're asking on the web page).

I rigged up a TX foot switch and over he years it's become second nature to use. I much prefer it over a hand or desk microphone.

Since I bought mine, they came out with a Pro Set Elite 6. I'm not familiar with that version so I can't comment.

There is a lot to say for a headset with foot switch if your hamming involves working a computer keyboard, etc. A headset and foot switch frees up both hands for other tasks and also keeps the mic at the same distance from your face at all times. Its not for me as I don't bother with a computer when operating and if I have to use a headset it has to include both ears, a single ear drives me nuts.
