i currently run a BC245xlt and i'm looking to pickup the rcmp, so i'm obviously gonna have to go digital.

I was looking at a BCD396T, they look pretty nice, what are those like? and what are some other nice radios.

And is it possible to pick up other things in my area on digital, like the undercovers and stuff on the police band?

i live in manitoba btw.

thanks!

there is only one type of digital that few scanners can decode and that is APCO25,typically in use by law enforcement, the other digital formats (and more are coming) will not be decoded by a scanner, so most stuff that is truly sensitive in nature will be encrypted , no joy there, the 396 is a sweet ride, the psr-500 gre is also receiving rave reviews, depends on weather or not you want a full size radio, you could conceivalby put all of maitobas systems in your new scanner and if you were to move from region to region (say long haul trucker etc) you could keep track of all the action.
go for it ....
