Looking to upgrade.

I need to replace my PRO-94 scanner with one that can handle the Harris P25 trunked systems that York Co Pa is now using. I know I need a digital one to handle that system. Does anyone know what else I should be looking for in a scanner and or recommend one to replace my 94

The best way is to look at your trunked system page and then compare what is available in the Wiki.
In this case you need a P25 capable scanner.

If you're going to need digital, these are the most current models available:

You could also consider buying one of the earlier digital versions from Uniden, GRE or Radio Shack (Made by GRE) in the pre-owned market to save a few dollars but, as with any pre-owned product, there are potential risks and drawbacks.

My personal preference lies with the Uniden 396XT. You could also make a post in the PA section of the forum to see if others in the York County area have found that any one model in particular works better there.

Not too far from York, in Wilmington, Delaware is an EXCEPTIONAL radio dealer that stocks both the Uniden and GRE models. Might be worth a short road trip to see each unit up close and personal: http://www.rrcom.com/rrcom.html
