Will this improve quality for the county? I'm on the western edge and reception is quite poor in some places. Would this tower make a difference or is there another closer that would also have to be upgraded??

TIA...

ok, ill say what i can...

the tower being put up is a repeater tower for the county. this will improve reception around millersvill, glen burnie, parts of odenton and severn, etc.

the tower currently behind HQ is the tower for the CC on the system. unfortunatly, thats about all i can say... sorry guys... ill keep you informed when i can...

Where is the current tower that's putting out 154.01 and 154.34?

I can pick em up fine all over the place, even into Calvert, PG, and all the way down DC295 almost to the Wilson bridge... and north to about Ruxton Road into the city.

I can barely pick up the trunk here at the house though, or down at the college, or anywhere in west county.

on the old tower... the county will be taking the ant. for the above mentioned OFF the old tower and onto the new tower. the old tower will be for the CC.

Seeing the antennas going up. Also see what looks like a test antenna on a small tower over by the water tower. Any clues ?

I also just noticed a "nest" of about 3 stationmaster types about 2/3 the way up one of the remaining three ex navy towers on Greenbury Pt in Annapolis. Anyone have any ideas if maybe these unused towers are being leased out to non navy users?

not being used... they are tearing the antenna off of the old tower and putting them on the new tower. those three antennas transmit (ONLY TRANSMIT) 154.010, 154.340, 154.280. the new tower (as i said before) will be a repeater site and a transmit for the 3 above frequenceies

these are (apparently) still in use, just not as much as they used to. AACo is trying to get the feds to let them put an 800 repeater on one of the towers, but no luck as of yet
