LORAN is back?

Was on its old 100 kHz last night. Picked it up on my Tecsun PL-600 and Sattelit 750. I thought that went off the air for good.

If I am not mistaken LORAN in North America went off the air in late 2010. However, eLORAN is looming on the horizon and might well be in the testing phase. I believe eLORAN is very similar to LORAN-C with an additional data channel. You might have heard that firing up, maybe a test transmission.

Unless I'm mistaken, there are still Canadian stations using 100 kHz for LORAN-C

I did not get LORAN last night. I only got it, for some unexplained reason, Monday night. It was coming in rather good on both radios. I was surprised when I heard it, because I know they took it down a couple years back. Nothing last night. Perhaps they were testing something out with it, it was definitely running strong here.
