Last I heard all that was pending was the build-out of an additional site on the east side of town to cover dead spots, and then LB city services and police would transition.
Last year they expanded the system to 14 frequencies and believe they have received all their needed portables.

Some of the TGs are already in use by Police on occasion.

I understand, Site 4 - McDill is off the air and is permanently decommissioned and not used as part of the system.

Monitoring notes 2021-07-02:
  • Site 5 has disappeared (someone in the SGV please check for a CC; I didn't hear it all that strong to begin with). It's missing from adjacent site broadcasts of sites 52 and 64 at least. It makes sense in that the new simulcast site 52 "East UHF" has gone live there or the new simulcast site 19 "San Gabriel Valley" will be (can someone in the SGV verify site 19 is live?).
  • New sites 52 "East UHF" and 64 "Johnstone Pk UHF" are both running patched LACoFD dispatch (wide-area, call locations from Palmdale to Palos Verdes to Industry) on TG 1006 from RID 16702001. There are no patches being announced in the control-channel data, so it's being done by a console patch or some other manual approach. Very little other activity seen on either (occasional registrations and reg denials, a couple of short enc voice calls on TG 2277). Maybe burn-in/passive coverage testing?
  • Some sites are switching control channels for one-minute periods at random intervals. Good chance to exercise control-channel-following setups:
    • Site 2 CC 477.1000 alternates with 476.9500, 476.9750.
    • Site 3 CC 477.8750 alternates with 478.0000.
    • Site 52 CC 477.0375 alternates with 476.8625.

what location are you monitoring from?

re: Site 5/East UHF & 700- check out WRBU700. It should replace Site 5.

site 19 would likely eventually replace Site 12 Verdugo Peak. See WRBV901. Same control channel too. If you monitor 774.43125 I’m not sure which site comes up for you based on where you’re monitoring from. Though Site 19 (and future site 49) are called San Gabriel Valley, the coverage area will be Pasadena, Altadena, etc as shown on WRBV901 (all locs except Palmdale)

Anyone in south county to verify the south 700 cell is online. Seeing a site 26 as a peer on my tracker but too far to verify.

just got it from Hawthorne. Site 1A (hex) CC 773.86875. Alternate might be 773.26875. RHT 700 is still up too. Monitoring from a G5 so can’t gather more details.
