R7100 losing memory contents

lately my R7100 has been losing the contents programmed into the memory, does anyone know if there is a battery backup that needs to be changed in this radio. Can it be changed without affecting anything else, i.e. any ram programming for the radio.

Page 35 of the manual details backup battery replacement. There are two, one for the memory and the other for the clock.

Both were dead when I bought my used unit, and I recall replacing them was a somewhat fiddly exercise, moving the REG unit to get at them underneath.

Hint: unplug the coaxial cable plugged in one corner of the REG unit before moving it out of the way.

The replacement of both batteries did not have any impact on ram programming.

thanks, i will have to look in the manual for that and do it. that will save a lot of problems.
