Well done Brandon. You are doing about the same as me, and I'm a lot closer :)

I can confirm 22868 is also being used for military fight following.

Caught Rescue 932 on 13.306mhz at 1245UTC working Brisbane, request position change to level 270, sounds like Korean or possibly Japanese operator, really amplified cockpit audio. Brisbane handed off to Melbourne, sounded like primary VHF frequency 134.00mhz. Brisbane was persistent and made several requests to operator for specific gps co-ordinate position before approving level change, missed the position though craps.

Followed with Rescue 131 ? handed off to Melbourne VHF also as above UTC 0100.

I'm in Brisbane, Australia in the suburbs on commercial HF radio ..............

Another day and the same players between 1126 and 1159 UTC Rescue 795 (Australia) climbing at level 250 and closely followed by Rescue 931 (Chinese, Korean or possibly Japanese ?) trying to get onto the same level in the same sector and following, lots of confusion with Brisbane centre as Rescue 795 has now lost HF contact. Brisbane centre directs 931 to tell 795 via vhf to call Brisbane centre on VHF and get things sorted !

Rescue 931 clears level change giving position 330 4 South 120 41 East

Rescue 795 back into HF contact with Brisbane centre.

Rescue 104 (Australia) clears Brisbane centre control and hands off to Melbourne centre on VHF 122.4mhz

New York NAT-A and NAT-C on 13306kHz S5 at about 2100UTC directing INO traffic to call Brisbane on 5634kHz!
Now 2245UTC, 0745local in Perth waiting for the Rescue traffic.....

Handy little app on my iPad mini - shows Perth, UTC, local time and the grey line on one display.

Another couple of hits this evening, conditions are quite poor though on 13.306mhz , mobile TX and vertical antennae.

10.00 UTC Rescue 933 (Chinese, Korean possibly Japanese) working Brisbane centre, may be a newcomer, Brisbane requesting Crew and Pax count, aircraft description and gps co-ordinates before approving level changes and selcall checks

12.00 UTC Rescue 932 (Chinese, Korean possibly Japanese) working Brisbane centre in transit

12.30 UTC Rescue 932 working Brisbane centre and handing off to Melbourne centre VHF

I wish I could be listening with the equipment I had at the HF receive site I used to work at, in Western Australia.

I have a very faint copy on something on 13306khz at 02:28z here in New Jersey. I can hear the comm check tones you hear on the commercial avaition bands but the voices are to faint to copy. I heard the word rescue ??? a couple times but cannot make out the aircraft number.

8846kHz? That's a Caribbean - B frequency from New York - sure it wasn't 8847 which is a SP Brisbane frequency - and I don't think an ELT would be going still - and an ELT talks to the satellite now and is found within 20minutes not four weeks!

Rescue795 calling Canberra for a radio check 22868kHz/0345z but no reply on Vector 1. Got a reply from another aircraft whose signal was buried in the mud but 795 then said he will try Vector 2. Is it VCN2? 5878kHz sounds a bit too low, I would have gone for 15962kHz/VCN4.
