First tip:
Back up that data, like,
yesterday. In several places. Zip up the data files and email them to yourself. Put them on a floppy if necessary, or a USB stick, an external drive, email them to friends, relatives, etc. Create multiple email accounts just for simple data storage if necessary, but...
Back that data up pronto.
I almost lost all the work I've been doing the past two weeks or so with Unitrunker, which is several hundred TGs so far, some systems, and tons of color coding all done by hand on top of all the unique radio IDs too for the SNACC system here in Las Vegas.
Now I have a tiny batch script that makes 5 copies of the folder and Zips the content when I run the batch file. I then email 3 copies to 3 different email accounts I have, stash 1 copy on a USB stick I keep plugged in, and then FTP one copy to my website hosting.
After all the work I'm putting into this effort, I'd be peeved beyond reason if I did something stupid and lost it.
As for why you're having the issues you're having, I can't say, but I'd guess it's because you're using Vista and Vista doesn't actually let you have access to stuff in the Program Files directory. It's actually usually junction points - similar to symbolic links in UNIX/Linux systems - that "points" to where the files actually are. Explorer will say one thing, but that's just letting you see the pointers, not the actual files.
Sometimes Vista just forgets where stuff is till the pointer tables are refreshed. Go figure...
From that picture it looks like most of your Unitrunker system files (not the data files you're worried about) appear to be associated with Adobe Reader (or perhaps Acrobat itself). Wonder why that is.
