Lost!! Mt1000

I have a MT 1000 and do not know what to do with it. I was wondering if I could reprogram it to monitor Fleetnet control channel, so I could use it to just to run trunk88 or unitrunker. It is a MT1000 with the keypad on the front, it is VHF and is programmed for 153.080 right now. I have no idea what to do with it, is it garbage or is there some use for them?

All depends where you are in Ontario and what the exact split of the radio is,you can always throw some MOH into it Ministry of Health Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference still worth keeping get a programming cable software shouldnt be that hard to find either.....good luck.

You can't trunk with it, so fleetnet would be out of the question. If you are a ham, you could use it for 2 meters. Otherwise, I think they will be doorstops come 2011 when narrowbanding hits.

He should still be able to use it for MOH conventional channels depending on the split ,he's in Ontario so I don't really know if the narrowbanding hit would affect him at all.

He isn't wondering about trunking with it, he's wondering about having it programmed to the control channel for the local Fleetnet channel and then using it with Trunk88 or a similar program.

To run it on a CC and run trunk88 would require a dis tap.

Also depends on the split....
