PROSCAN is not the problem. I have Xfinity and recently changed gateways. Port fwd was done (with several different numbers) and I can see the scanner locally. The port cannot be seen by any port check tools - canyouseeme. The response I get says "could not see your service. Reason: connection refused". Comcast advanced techs on the phone are clueless and so are the technicians they send out. The last one didn't know what port fwd is. Is there a work around to get my web server back online? The gateway is XB7-CM. this is the 4th one I've tried. SDS200 and Windows 11. No issues until I changed gateways. Also, not that computer savy.

not sure if its the same gateway but a forum I visit for my cameras, Wyze cams have reported some xfinity gateways block those connections and I want to say the xb7 is on that list.

I would 1st double and triple check your gateway port forwarding is setup correctly. Especially the IP address. A common mistake is using the scanner IP address and not the computer IP address. It's the easiest and fastest thing to do.

When I use the Xfinity app to set up port fwd, scanner comes up as the option. It then shows a reserved IP of the scanner and that can not be changed. The only editing is port number and protocol. In proscan I did select get my IP when the gateway was changed. Not sure if I misunderstood something.

You don't have another router on the network by any chance? I've heard of a double NAT situation and the gateway has to be put in bridge mode. I don't know more then that so maybe the network gurus can chime in.

Actually I do. Hardwired out to the pole barn about 75 feet away

Edit: it's an existing router in the barn, not new.

Google how to check double network address translation.
Many links are coming up that seems helpful.
Also refine the search terms like putting in "how to prevent" and "XB7-CM"

Update: Up and running. Amazing things happen when you follow the instructions and what Bob says. What through me off was setting up the port fwd. Scanner was an option so naturally that's what I wanted. After going through the other device options I saw Desktop. Configured that with the port number and everything working fine now. Thanks Bob!
