The micro SD Card may have become corrupted. But first try unmounting it. Using you fingernail push in on the card. It will allow the card to be removed. You don’t need to remove it. Just push on it again and it will “click” back into place. If that doesn’t do it reformat the card using the Sentinel program. And then reload the card by writing to the card from Sentinel.

Never touched the SD card, iI think it happen when I unplugged the USB cable ,if I look in the Sentinel software the database is there. Do you know how to do a factory reset, I think if I do that and than load software I should be good to go? The scanner turns on info shows up on display but just does not scan?
Thanks Doug
PS where is the best place to get latest software and firmware?

.
The OP has a SDS100... the SD card does not "click" into place. Pushing on the SD card to try to make it "click" would most likely damage the metal cover that locks the SD card in place. The metal cover slides to the right or left to unlock/lock the card in place.

@Omanzz

If you ever need to remove your SD card, follow these instructions carefully:

I do it a little different than the video...
I push down on the edge of the card with my left hand index finger then with my right hand thumb slide the latch...
That takes the pressure off the latch to make it easier to slide...
Easier for me anyway than doing it with one finger...

Eveerything is in the Sentinel software on your computer...
The SD card just holds the information of what the scanner is to do... And the full database...
The firmware in your scanner is what runs the scanner itself...

Are you setting everything up in Sentinel then WRIGHTING it to the scanner?

Do you know how to see what firmware version is in your scanner?

This is the latest version on mine...

If you are asking about the Sentinel Software for your computer, the latest version is here:

As for the SDS100 firmware and the master database, those are both available through Sentinel... check this reply to your previous post on that:

Question Doug...

Are you using the ZIP CODE function on the scanner to scan?
That is the only way the scanner utilizes the full DATABASE from the SD card...

A Favorite List setup does not...

My mistake on how the micro card is mounted. I was referring to the SDS200. Please disregard.

What exactly is shown on the display of the sds100? Does it by chance show “Nothing to Scan”?
When I turn on scanner it now says digital trunking? Do you know what that means. Also what does nothing to scan mean? I'am getting a little lost any further ideas..also I posted about doing a factory reset and reloading everything?
Thanks for your time

It means your SD card is corrupt! Get a new one, install it. Put it in the scanner. Plug the scanner into your PC (which should already be on) and turn the scanner on. Put it into mass storage mode and initialize the SD card via the instructions in the manual.

No problemo thanks for your help, still stuck?
Thanks Doug
I’m not the OP. I responded to him and somehow had the impression he had the SDS200. (The SDS100 micro SD Card uses that other mounting system. A system most probably required due to Uniden’s choice of case for the SDS100, a case that looks very much like the one they use for their marine transceiver. That case was not designed to accept a micro SD Card because there is no need for it with the marine band. So Uniden had to do something inside the SDS100 battery compartment instead.)

The file system on the SD card gets corrupt if you pull the cable while it is trying to write to the SD card.
Use Sentinel and select Scanner at the top and then Clear User Data. Tick the box that says to display all drives. Select the drive for the SD card and then OK. It will reformat the SD card.

Program all your favorites again to your scanner from Sentinel and select Download and Monitor for each. Then also update the database.

If you can't see the SD card when doing Clear User Data or it can't do the format, then try the SDFormatter V4.0 program to initialize the SD card.

I think, what you are referring to, is the "splash screen" that displays initially when you boot up the scanner. That sounds like Uniden's standard verbiage. You can customize that message to whatever else you want.

Open the Profile Editor, either selecting that from the drop-down Edit menu, or by clicking the small icon on the second row. that resembles a pencil laying on a piece of paper.

Select the Display Options tab. The opening screen being used is in the lower left corner of the Display Options page. You can change that to something else. I changed mine to show my name, email address & phone number, as well as a line 'Reward if returned'.

Note that you can also use a custom graphic that comes up when you start the scanner. (This applies to both the SDS100 & SDS200.)
See the discussion in this thread on how to do that.

If you can't see the SD card when doing Clear User Data or it can't do the format, then try the SDFormatter V4.0 program to initialize the SD card.
Here is the link for the card formatter that Ubbe mentioned.
