Oh wise radio gurus...

Had WyoLink coming in clear as a bell here in Lusk (home for the summer helping with family stuff) off the 77 Hill site since mid April, but the weekend leading into July 4, I lost all of it, and it hasn't returned.

I'm running a PSR 500, and had successfully used it to monitor WyoLink in various parts of the state, mainly in Laramie, but also here in Lusk, Casper, and Cheyenne and various places in between since I'd purchased the machine a couple years ago.

At present, I've confirmed my frequencies per the database on the TSYS, and have not, to my knowledge, changed any settings regarding the TSYS settings or TGRP settings on the scanner. I don't currently have any PSR 500 software setup (I run Linux), so I'd done things manually, but as I stated, I generally turn on the scanner and lock out whatever I'm not listening to. Since I've been in Lusk, there has been very little programming.

I've confirmed that the scanner still works on conventional bands, but lack a trunked system nearby to test trunking abilities on another system. However, I can state that while the scanner is clearly scanning the WyoLink TSYS/TGRPs I have programmed in, it is not currently receiving any broadcasts, including trunking information (per the icon on the scanner display). I've analyzed the TSYS and show a single flickering bar at best.

Wondering if I missed something, inadvertently changed something, or if something has changed on WyoLink that I'm unaware of.

(sorry for barging into the WY forum - hopefully someone local can give you a specific answer)

A quick way to see if the site is actually up is to program the control channel as a Conventional object and see if you actually hear the datastream - if there is no signal, the site is dead; if you can hear the control channel, something's up with your scanner.

Thanks. Did so, and it's there, just enough to break the squelch gate. The squelch info also displays P25, so it appears that site is out there but my scanner isn't jiving on the information being sent.

Just confirmed that the TSYS is set to P25 Auto as well, and tried with a different antennae. No change in reception of P25 broadcasts.

I've gotten two hits in the last week, both HP out of Casper. Still not showing any trunking information being heard by the radio. Very odd.

As of 2:00 this afternoon, I tried programming in the CC as a conventional object again, with nothing coming in. This indicates that the tower isn't even transmitting if I understand this correctly.

Will check again tonight to see if there's a different result.
