Pro-106: Loud BEEP

A neighbor of mine has a pro 106, & he asked me to look at it to see if I can figure out why it beep's.
HIS SCANNER WORKS, BUT WHEN I TURN IT ON, IT BEEPS FAST FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN STOPS BEEPING, I'VE INSTALLED NEW BATTERIES, AND IT STILL DOES IT, TRIED EVERYTHING,
any ideas what's going on with it ? Thanks in advanced

Does the normal Welcome Screen appear when powered on? Check for an error message. When off, exercise all of the keys, perhaps one is stuck.

EvilLithiumMan, thanks for the in put on the pro 106 as for the key pad. had 2 keys that was not
releasing, took radio apart & straighten out the pad & now it work good, Thanks

thats exactly what i was going to reply. I've had one of the bottom row keys get stuck and do that exact thing.
