I now have 320,637 hits on the system. RID's and TG's stopped increasing about a week ago. I have 107 TG's and 1857 RID's. I'm sure there are some more radios out there and maybe a few TG's that no one has selected yet long enough to affiliate. I think that's about 7 weeks of logging 24 hours a day (except for a couple of times when the program locked up overnight) so it's time to switch back to logging STARS or some other systems.

Little lost in my Pro 96. Can someone please give me step by step what to do to monitor the new LC system. I have gone back through the pages but looks like conflicting info on the cc and set the 9600 cc mode to normal.

Setting is same as 3600 mode, MOT Mode for both bank and frequencies -- Controls and Alt Controls are the only thing required, same as 3600.

It works if I am out of the immediate area. Have a funny feeling that I am getting some adjacent channel interference from NEXTEL in the Country Side, Hwy 7 area. Once out of this immediate area it works fine. Thanks!

I'm sure that most members know this but maybe they haven't put 2 & 2 together.I think all the 700 mgz
info is because the Metropolital DC area's fire systems are changeing the way they number their equiptment to make it compatible with each other. All equiptment call signs will start with numbers 1 thru 7 Prince William Co. where I live has number 5. All they did was put 5 in front of their reg. numbers so wagon 11 becomes wagon 5-11. This was done because on 9/11 at the pentigon there were 4 different departments there and no one knew what was what. I'm sure this will help them keep tract of their little red wagons.

Arvellabill,

Just an FYI, the COG (Council of Government) numbering system and the 700MHz radio systems are two completely separate things. Only Loudoun and Prince George's County, MD (which hasn't been launched yet) are dealing with new 700Mhz radio systems. Also, the COG numbering system started before 9/11 - Arlington, Alexandria, MWAA, and Fairfax were already using it when the attacks occurred.

Also, the numbering system is now up to 1-12.

Alrighty, back to your regularly scheduled LoCo radiospeak!

I know what the COG in the DC area is, and what the 700 numbering system is ,and what a 700 MHZ radio system is. I just thought that maybe some people who are either new to scanning, or new to numbering systems or new to deciphering what they just read might have gotten confussed about the two 700 numbers. I am glad that you corrected me about the time line of the COG systems I never bother to scan Arl. or Alex. or Fairfax back then as I only had analog scanners. Anyway you have a good day and please correct me again if I again make such mistakes on such importent information. Bill

I've heard the IDs for a few channels during these storms.
2874 6C Command 10
2875 6D Tac 11
2880 6I Tac 22
2888 6C Tac 41 (Not sure how they can have two 6Cs but that's what they called it)
2886 6M Tac 32
2887 69C
2899 69D

I am trying to reprogram my BCD396T to p/u the new Loudoun system using the Uniden Advanced Scanner Director software and the info provided here....... Loudoun County (Project 25) Trunking System, Ashburn, Virginia - Scanner Frequencies , with no success.

My question is when using the UASD and creating this new system in my database, what system type do I enter? (Motorola P25 or the 800MHz Type 2 Standard) or am i just SOL ?

With the old trunk system I used the Type 2 Standard and it worked fine but this new system data and a Type 2 is giving me an NFM readout while scanning. I can't edit the system now that i've created it. I am manually entering the data and would like some advice before I start over.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Does anyone know what TG2853 is? I hear it on my hand held but I can't make anything out.

Hmm. I would have thought that encrypted traffic would sound different. It sounds to me like I can almost make out voice traffic. Maybe it's mental...

I don't have an example handy, but if you can access the archives for the LCFR system listen to the section covering 15:45 yesterday, Feb 18th.

Arvellabill,

1. What does 700MHz have to do with Loudoun County?
2. Prince George's County's system is online and in use by PGPD (and FD for FedEx).
3. The COG numbering system starts with 0 not 1.
4. :)
