Could you define "the main channel"? Do you mean the channel which is carrying the most analog traffic, a 3600 control channel, X2 control ch or the control ch for both?

Are you sure it's not a control channel and your scanner's tracking the TGs? I'm guessing it's digital. Anyone see that showing up with UT? That freq is from the old system. They may have recycled the other freqs from the old to the new.

All the old freqs are now in use with the new system. The control channel is currently 868.9125. 867.325 seems to be the most active voice channel.

What VHF fire channel is patched to the system? Is it a permanent patch? MARS? I'm wondering how Clarke Co fire companies and Warren Co company 6 talk to Loudoun County. How does Purcellville Truck 602 talk to Clarke County?

I'm kind of curious about Montgomery Co Md and the 2-3 river rescues the two jurisdictions run together every week during the summer months....as well as MSP Helo's and Eagle 1.

Oh, and don't forget BlackJack's 1, 2 & 3

I know the LCFR radios have a Montgomery County zone programmed in, but I didn't look to see what it had within it.

I heard the other week on the Jefferson Co. WVIRP a tech talking about setting up the Loudoun Patch. I think it was for a fire patch. If Loudoun keeps the ability on the new system for older type radios to affiliate, then I would think it may not be too difficult for surrounding jurisdictions to reprogram their radios for the new system. But then again, I don't know anything about the new system or the systems the others have. :)

There's a lot more TDMA goin' on...

I started running dual scanners with Pro96com... my PSR500 parked on the control, my BC250D to float around (since it can decode some stuff at least)... and I'm hearing a lot of stuff it can't decode... LCSO East (Sterling) seems to be all TDMA... Leesburg PD is there as well now. LCSO West (Dulles) still has a fair amount of FDMA, most likely because of the smaller towns in the western part of the county. I think the Jail is now TDMA too.

And so it begins...

It means that there's a lot less to hear, until someone comes out with a new scanner that can decode the TDMA digital audio being used.

Listening today, the only thing I've heard is Fire and Rescue... even Dulles Dispatch is now all TDMA.

Talked with another LCSO Deputy and found out that they're only using Sterling and Dulles at the moment, as the other channels don't work. Basically Sterling = East End and Dulles = West End for now.

Until there's a scanner that will do TDMA, I hope those channels continue to not work. :)

Just in the past week I've noticed that when driving all the way thru Loudoun County, my PRO-106 is getting FULL bars on the control channel, but can only decode 1% of it. Haven't received barely any transmissions lately. I'm really scratching my head at this system. Is this control channel using something that our radios cannot decode?

Have you tried using a custom band plan and if so with what values? For whatever reason I found that I have better luck using a custom band plan especially when the control channel is weak like it is in the western part of the county.

Would you mind sharing your custom band plan? I could use any help coping with the weak signal out here in the western part of the county.

LFR Live Audio Feed

So the live audio feed for Loundon Co Fire and Rescue is now working. I have also been able to monitor a couple of freq on my BC250D in conventional mode but I have not been able to trunk scan. I am way west in the county. Is there anything I can do or is my radio too old?
