Louisiana has reached a contract with Motorola to upgrade and maintain its statewide radio system used during natural disasters and provide radios, license plate readers, body cameras, in-car video systems and related technology to police agencies.

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana Illuminator) - Louisiana lawmakers signed off Thursday on a 10-year, no-bid contract worth $192.6 million to provide public safety equipment and technology for law enforcement and the prison system.

The deal gives Motorola $138.2 million to upgrade and maintain the Louisiana Wireless Information Network, a statewide radio system used during natural disasters.

The state will also pay the company $54.4 million to provide radios, license plate readers, body cameras, in-car video systems and related technology to police agencies, according to a draft of the contract.

Reading the notes, it may look like lwin is going to work on going to phase 2 soon, and now will work for mswin and awin, i would expect nola or br metro to get a taste of it. (my guess)
and i would not be suprised if the caddo parish system to get swallowed in the setup by 2032 (again imho)

The GulfWIN ISSI's will always work whether TDMA, or FDMA. They might actually do some actual full time interop TG's after the upgrades like most other statewide TRS systems that border with other statewide TRS systems have. Like dedicated MHP/LSP, ASP/LSP maybe even TXWARN, GATRRS/LWIN LEA TG's. These need doing. The best example is the Palmetto 800/NC VIPER set up.
