I'll post updates when it's back up, looking at several more weeks, FD radios are being reprogrammed over the next couple weeks. From what I'm being told, expect encryption on SO dispatch, maybe not immediately but it should be expected. Currently Ascension and St. John SO are. FD won't have any encryption.

Radio UIDs

Some time back I posted a list of talk groups and radio UIDs to be id'd . I still help on iding them.

Also Does anyone have a list of radio Ids for the Washington Parish area. I would like to check my list against yours. Please send them in form of a Spreadsheet CSV File to fullerdavid63601@gmail.com

Thanks in advance.

Seems like a reasonable catch. the lower 32000s seem to be PS in the river parishes area with St James being toward the bottom and St Charles being at the lower 32100s. Of course I suspect that dispatch will end up being encrypted once everyone gets on board.

They had a problem with their system going recently, they may have been on LWIN temporarily. Sometimes I hear them when they are running traffic, I think they use it to get off of their dispatch channel. Or they may have switched over for part of the upgrade process. Their system is one that is going to be tied into Ascension with St. James.

Been hearing St. Charles doing some testing for their Fire channels on LWIN. Sounds like they're making the switch. They were testing paging tones and confirming whether both the LWIN dispatch and the VHF pagers were recieving.

Hey I hope im in the right spot,I just got a Uniden 396xt and i have been using Freescan with my RR subscript and trying to program this is a headache. Im in the hammond area and trying to scan Tangi(LWIN), Livingston (conv), STTammany (LWIN and EDACC), NOPD (LWIN), EBRSO AND BRPD (LWIN) and TROOP L and A. and cant seem to set the groups up right to select. Do i need every LWIN site in the system to scan?

IF someone has a freescan file set up similar I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! if not if someone could help me out i would be grateful! THANKS

No, you don't need EVERY site on the LWIN. You need the sites in the areas you are trying to monitor. You may want to set up a "Home" and "Travel" arrangement. Remember, you most likely are not going to hear NOFD, NOPD, NOEMS, BRPD, EBRSO on the site at Hammond unless a unit with those talkgroups programmed in thier radios affiliates with that site. St. Tam is mostly ProVoice digital, and can't be monitored on any scanner. (You must use DSD and a patch cable from the scanner to PC to hear that.) If your travelling in the areas of EBRP, OP/JP, you want to set up the sites youll be nearest.

LWIN and BCD996T and freescan

I was programming a BCD996T NOT XT with freescan for LWIN and got error on i think all sites scanner wants BAND PLAN?
Well I thought no plan needed on a P25 system
I programmed it for moto typeII/P25.The P25 setting says for XT models.
Has anyone had any LWIN issues and the 996T scanner.

Hate to ship it back from IND to LA and it not working.
Thanks for any help

Limits on the 996T are:

Sites: 1000 maximum, 256 maximum per system
Groups per system: 20 maximum
Talkgroups per trunked system: 250 maximum

I hit the talk group limits on my 996T. Really wish it was upwards of 750 or 1000 limit on talk groups.
