I was programming a BCD996T NOT XT with freescan for LWIN and got error on i think all sites scanner wants BAND PLAN?
Well I thought no plan needed on a P25 system
I programmed it for moto typeII/P25.The P25 setting says for XT models.
Has anyone had any LWIN issues and the 996T scanner.

Hate to ship it back from IND to LA and it not working.
Thanks for any help
Jeff,
I see the same 'error codes' for P25 systems in my area (DFW Metro) and also the FTO (fire tone out) 'errors' the first time a new file, or a major revision to an existing file, or different scanner, is loaded from FreeSCAN. It'll pop up the first time the file is loaded to the scaner, but the scanner will work perfectly well. I especially see this when I change scanner types (246T to 396XT, for instance), then load a file to the 396XT. The previous scanner 'load' was to a 246T, so I get warnings. If I were to reload the 396XT the second time, with the exact same file parameters, I get no warnings. I just ignore it & go on.

Posted back in March of some testing on a temp site around the Franklin area at the time with pd and fd units going around in areas doing radio checks on LWIN. Since then both agencies have still been using VHF. However a new site has just showed up today on LWIN apparently in the Franklin area. The only traffic I am hearing is St. Mary SO, Troop I and Chitimacha PD on the site which they have already been on LWIN for some time. While I don't expect to hear Franklin PD and FD on there the first day, I am sure they will switch soon since that was the purpose for a site in their area to be built. There were too many dead spots for them to make the move before. As soon as I can confirm the exact location I will submit the info for the DB. The site number is 151 and the CC is 774.8312

That is real exciting as long as I can hear them in New Iberia. I'm tired of having to use an outdoor antenna to hear just Franklin. Now where is the hero hacker who will give us back Lafayette?

Franklin PD has been on LWIN all day. I guess we can assume they have finally made the switch. I have not heard them on VHF today at all. Now lets see if Franklin FD makes the move.

Yes they sure are. The signal is only between 0-2 bars here in New Iberia.

I am using my Uniden BCD396XT. I recently (a week ago) have been having trouble listening on the Northshore. I use the Abita Springs repeater and always have. Have they changed frequencies? Any suggestion.

Recently my scanner has not been able to pick up the Abita Springs repeater, I live in Covington and used to listen to my channels on the Abita repeater. Anyone know how to help me? ((Also when I would listen I would not get all the channels that I would on other repeaters.))

Where did Lafayette Go?

I'm hearing Scott, Parks, and Abbeville from my location in Lafayette, but no Lafayette site.

Anybody?

I bet they changed the control channel. They do change the CC's on sites from time to time. Try and do a search and see. If so please post and submit to db

I am having a problem picking up the system in south Baton Rouge. I have a Uniden BCD396T. I have tried these two control channels, 774.54375 and 769.19375. Am I using control channels for the wrong sites?

Do an active search for new ones. LWIN undergoes CC switching regularly, and as they make system changes, they add new/switch to other CC's.

Best bet is between 763.00000 and 776.00000. As far as I know, the only 800 MHz is the sites in NOLA currently.

I have noticed on Baton Rouge Police talkgroup to Dispatch 1 has been encrypted. I can hear the units, but not dispatch. the other talkgroups, are functioning properly. With the cars and dispatch talking at the same time.

As of October state police, we are starting to use some p25 stations on 792.275000mhz so some systems will be in the 792.000000mhz range
