Well not sure (how) but I am picking up with three bars sometimes four bars
Louisiana Wireless Information Network (LWIN) Trunking System, Statewide, Louisiana - Scanner Frequencies in podunk Port Lavaca, Tx on my 396xt. The SID that I am getting is SID : 01BDh-0121 on freq. 769.1812. Now from what I have read 0121 would be 1-021 Lafayette. Now how is it that I am picking up this system when i am like 350.33 miles a way(PER map quest). I have been picking up this system the last three days, day and night.

Any info would be great.

This is probably why, the bands are open in your area.

Well this might be a stupid question but
Looking at the map what does it mean?

How does that make me able to here that system so clearly?

Is it common to hear systems that far away?
