Ok, I found the pics in your profile. I didn't know that we could do that. Be sure to take a couple pics of the ham radio station for me after it's moved. I've only seen it at it's current location.

I added two more pictures to my profile I hope you enjoy them. I will try to take pictures of the Ham Station once it is moved that may be a little while yet, it will move when the E.O.C. is moved. You all see those monitors on the one picture, we had over 250 of them to mount on all of the desks and we only have about 300 more monitors left.
Hopefully next week we will be cabling all of the positions which means VGA monitor cables, USB cables and power cables. Then we build the images and load all of the PC's which there are 5 per Dispatch position and 3 per Calltaker position. Lots left to do.

Anyone know whom is using TG#00005 to-day its fireground operations, sounds like it may be
Louisville city by the unit numbers , however it does not appear to be a rebroadcast of any of their
normal freq channels .
may be a LFD training session from what I am hearing now...14:07 Mar 4th 2009

LFD has indeed been using the old Executive Inn for training purposes over the past week or so. They have been using the new 800 radios for testing purposes and to see what "tweaks" may or may not be needed.

The "patching" of MetroSafe talkgroups and some fire and EMS channels is done on the Motobridge. If the dispatchers do certain testing with other agencies, such as KSP, ISP or other counties, that "un-patches" those fire/EMS and talkgroups.

I'm looking for a digital scanner and need to know the baud rate for the MetroSafe system, I can't find it anywhere and don't want to get a scanner I can't use.

Baud Rate

I'm looking for a digital scanner and need to know the baud rate for the MetroSafe system, I can't find it anywhere and don't want to get a scanner I can't use.

The MetroSafe system is Project 25 Standard 9600 baud rate, the RadioShack Pro-96,2096 106,197 uniden 396T, 996T,296D(with digital card), GRE PSR-500, 600. all should work with 9600 baud P25 systems. Do some research before you buy, everybody will have thier opinion on what is the better scanner, pick what best suits your needs, the RR Wiki will help.

I've listened to the MetroSafe system on the 396, 996 and 796D. So those models work. I'm putting out an early Christmas wish for the new 396XT when it comes out at the end of this month or thereabouts.

So I couldn't use a BC250 or similar unit that only receives 3600 baud systems right?

I found this from the RR Wiki(Please note that this scanner will not track a P25 trunking system. While it can decode P25 digital voice (with the optional BCi25 card installed) it cannot follow a P25 (9600 bps) control channel.) So it will not work with the MetroSafe system.

Judging from the activity this morning, it appears there may be a lot of traffic on the Metrosafe system
during Derby festival.
sounds as if 800hmz radios for the system are being issued.

Doesn't appear to be any right now, the only TGs that have shown up since I posted the other day
are some test counts on TG-1 and tech traffic on TG-19.

I had expected to some traffic during the mini and parade. but nada...

they just did a rollcall for Oaks at 15:00 all activity was on TG-1.

was a very short rollcall, unlike the number of stations last year.

Short message and I was't paying attention until it was too late, but there it was. Something about telling the dispatch st, and then it was over.

I work for LMEMS and worked the Oaks yesterday. While I was using our conventional UHF radio, MetroSafe stated that they were doing a test at 1500 for the 800mhz system. Don't know if that helps you at all.
