I have a TRX-1 that simply was not following a DMR system here in Tulsa.

Bought a Uniden. It worked great. And the reception is truly exceptional

Mine already had the DRM firmware update.

Thought I would share....

Just a thought have you looked at the decode settings and what version is the firmware on both scanners.

Sorry you had the trouble. First serious complaint I've heard about the TRX-x radios.

I'm not a Whistler (ex-GRE) person having only had a dozen or so Unidens, but I was curious about the TRX-2 and thought for a while about replacing my 996XT in the car with one. May yet do that, but lack of ProVoice on the TRXes is unfortunate and will probably mean I will get a 996P2.

My Uniden BCD996P2

I purchased my BCD996P2 at HRO, updated all firmware/software, then purchased the provoice upgrade. I now listen to MBTA traffic (mostly provoice) It comes in fantastic. I have an indoor yagi pointed in southerly direction. I'm in Southern NH, 60 miles away! Still exploring 996P2 but good so far. I also listen to MSP 800mhz system which is extensive and busy mostly. Programmed them all with ProScan which is awesome also.

Yes..And they are the latest released

However, I have yet to purchase the ProVoice Upgrade...


And...the firmware for the TRX-1 was the most up to date

It just could not follow a DMR system (that my Uniden can...and with --excellent reception--
