Girls seriously injured in east Loveland wreck; eastbound Eisenhower Boulevard closed

A serious car accident on East Eisenhower Boulevard sent three girls to the hospital Saturday afternoon and closed the highway.
Both lanes of eastbound Eisenhower were closed between Denver and Boyd Lake avenues after the 4:20 p.m. crash, and police said one lane of the road might be reopened by 6 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicate that a Ford F-250 pickup and a Pontiac Grand Am collided at Sculptor Drive and East Eisenhower.
The three injured girls were in the sedan. A young girl was trapped in the wreckage and was flown by helicopter to The Children’s Hospital in Denver.
The two other girls, one a teen with serious injuries, were taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.
It took paramedics about 30 minutes to extricate the youngest victim and load her onto the helicopter, which took off at 4:55 p.m.
