From DTRS: CSP reporting tanker carrying 2200 gallons of diesel or gasoline on fire from an overturned and fully involved tanker truck on Loveland Pass. On a switchback at MM 256 if memory serves. Fuel is leaking and trooper on-scene reporting that flaming fuel is running down drainages from the roadway, although none of it appears to be involving the surrounding forest. The driver was able to escape uninjured and was conversing with firefighters on-scene.

Highway 6 is closed both directions over the pass, so expect Haz-Mat protocols to be in effect at the tunnel until further notice...

CSP Haz-Mat Response Team is en route...

Update and video

From Lake Dillon Fire: 3500 gallons of unleaded and 3800 gallons of diesel were on-board the tanker. They are letting the fuel burn itself off and estimate the road surface has been exposed to temps in excess in 1400 degrees in certain areas. No word on when the road will re-open.
