Hello,

Recently I was in Lake County and heard the Cleveland Heights low band police repeater. I was wondering if it actually covers the city fairly well or if the associated emf noise of cities makes this a poor choice of frequency. I know of a few other low band repeaters in ohio, ie. Jefferson Township fire near Dayton, the very scratchy/ multipath ridden Hamilton County analog fire repeater, and a semi local SO, Columbiana County. Eventhough Columbiana is topographically mixed, it seems to work for most locations there.

Anyways, if anyone has heard stories (good or bad) about these systems, let me know.

With a stock antenna and my 92 I can pick up 39.980 (CCSO Simulcast located at the top of Batavia hill ) from Eastgate (a little over 13 miles away by road) quite well.

When on 275 I can pick up the 39.980 all the way up till I hit the 75 exit.

I assume there are repeaters but I am not sure. When I lived in Milford I could pick up 39.980 easily on my old Pro29.

I think these simulcast freqs are pretty nice.

I only wish they would transmit both sides of the traffic. Then i wouldnt be saving up to buy a 96.
