California Highway Patrol, statewide. More than a dozen channels in just the Los Angeles metro area alone. Keeps my old crystal scanners active.

I listen to low band often when there is a band opening. I have a scan bank dedicated to the low band fire frequencies on 33 and 46 MHz. The northeast part of the United States still uses low band for Fire and EMS.

Here are the frequencies:

I like to search, but the noise and interference in Low Band makes it hard to search that range.........
But yes there are a few around me that still use it and if I remember correctly they all use PL codes.

Lots of places still use Low Band.
Military, Cordless Phones, PD/FD etc

MANG 49 Mhz, multiple Rptrs linked via VHF High
MSP still 42 Mhz in most cruisers, altho 98% is on a 700/800 TRS, 42 Mhz is still active

Even 33.90 is making a come-back in NH, as a simulcast of the VHF High

My county (Perry County, PA) still uses low band for police, fire and EMS. They are in the process of switching to VHF high, but that is still a few years away.

Sussex County, NJ still uses Low Band for FD's Dispatch and FG's. Some FD's are using High Band for local FG's now.

Thirty years ago, scanner antennas in Arkansas nearly glowed with activity on VHF lowband (state police, sheriffs' net, local sheriff department dispatch, fire departments, etc) but today it is very very quiet. Still, there are the few oddball examples... Boone County SO (in northern Ark) has moved to UHF DMR but they have an unencrypted feed for mundane transmissions and public service announcements on 37.160 MHz.... at least they are thoughtful enough to throw a bone to the scanner monitors out there. Nearly all other county transmissions (including Harrison PD, Harrison FD, county fire dispatch) are all DMR now. Ditto with nearby counties.

I think low-band will have a resurgence one day. Eventually people will come to their senses and see the benefits. But of course... When it happens, the people who recommend it will act like it's a brand new technology that they invented. :) Obviously there's still CHP and some other state PDs. Around here there's a few things here and there... LADWP still does some low band trouble calls, and their helos also check in on their patrols through that, which is interesting.
