Hi,

Is anyone hearing any of the low-band fire and police voice transmissions? So far, all I hear are pager tones, and packet screech. The 39.5 State Police Mutual Aid frequency is pretty much a "wash out". They've gone to either LATIE, 800 mHz trunked, or communicate via computer land-line. :-(

I'm still working on that E-911 Spreadsheet. I found some 'misteakes' (LOL!) and am slowly but surely getting a two forms of data to be given out.

Respectfully,
73,

Don/KA5LQJ

As far as I know alot of the agencies have upgraded to other bands (i.e. VHF Hi, UHF, 800) or the LATIE. especially around this time of year when the atmospheric conditions get right.

Old State Police Dispatch Freq.

Don,

I think you will be hard pressed to find an EOC in the state that does not have a radio on 39.50 MHz. No matter what happens to systems, as long as power is available, simplex operation on that frequency will work. I do know that Troop B (in its newer quarters in Kenner) does not have a base station on that frequency (or at least didn't when I was in St. John parish), but I think that they may be exception to the rule. Is it monitored much...probably not; is it available for use, you bet.

Several parishes in north Louisiana that use VHF-Hi for their primary public safety communications, use VHF-Lo for back up. They also use VHF-Lo for base to base inter parish communications. They don't use them very often, but they still use them.
