KQ2H 29.62 mhz from NY strong into Minnesota this morning. Continuing to listen to other 29.62 repeaters to get ID's. Scanning up from there. Pro 35 with a groud plane at 15 feet. I need to get a rig here at work to transmit as well.

I hear the KQ2h Repeater daily down here in Lancaster County PA..... Encode/Decode of 146.2. They must have a very high profile system because it is too far away for ground and too close to me for any type of other propagation. Most times it is scratchy but still legible. BTW I hear this inside my vehicle with a Yaesu FT-8900 and a Comet UHV-4 antenna.....

The below information is from http://www.hamrepeater.net/kq2h/ ........

THE 10-METER REPEATER TRANSMITTER IS LOCATED IN THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS OF NY.

TRANSMIT FREQ = 29.620

RECEIVE FREQ = 29.520

RX PL = 146.2(NYC), 192.8(ORANGE COUNTY), NO PL IN UPSTATE.

COVERAGE ON THE 10M REPEATER IS PHENOMENAL.

THE 6-METER REPEATER IS UP AND RUNNING NOW. THE FREQUENCY IS:

TX = 53.73 RX= 52.73 PL 146.2

From the website it looks like they have quite the system in NY. I also found a website for a 10 meter FM repeter in South Carolina (I think) where they run 350 watts output. The high power commercial low band stuff isnt always the highest powered but some of the Missouri State Patrol licenses show them at 15 kilowatts ERP (!).
