Hey guys lots of low band skip going on right now. Still trying to ID some of these 33.82 (Eastern time zone---Medic 5). 46.46 also coming in good, lots of 30-50MHz stuff! By the way I am sitting inside with just a PRO-96( Maldol telescoping ant.) and a BC346XT (diamond antenna RC77C). Anyone else catching anything? Mike

When these weather fronts go thru it makes for good skip. This morning i was getting 800mhz from IL. STARCOMM Rock Island tower. I was at work with PRO96 and the 800mhz antenna.

Fireside, I notice you use a PRO-96. I have been using mine for mostly VHF-HI stuff, with a Maldol antenna------the 96 picks up VHF better than any scanner I have ever used. I use it for the digital stuff also, but as I am sure you are aware---not much going on in Iowa. I did use it last year in NC , and picked up all kinds of digital federal park service (Forest Service, National Park service) on the Blue Ridge Pkwy.. I have been using a 346XT for RACOM , works excellent (with Diamond antenna).

On a side note I kind of like DXing digital TV also. Last night with an INDOOR antenna pointed North, I picked up KIMT 3 from Mason City, and KAAL 6 from Austin MN. Watched them both for several hours with no pixelation or breakups. Summer is great for DX! Mike

Haley, I like to try to hear the CR TRS, and some mornings it booms in 70 to 90% decode rate. I would like to get a yagi on the roof at work with a rotor and pick up some other trunking systems.
