Low band Truncking

Hi I was scanner low band and picked up buzzing sound on
40.530 and 40.670 Mhz,from here in MPLs MN 10AM cst
Does any one know where this is coming from ?
Just not use to low band truncking
I want to enter the control chanel,have'nt heard any voice yet

On low band, you're bound to pick up all sorts of noises. Old TV sets use to generate a buzzing sound on portions of low band. (In the 40 mhz range if I remember correctly). You could be picking up noise from a nearby computer also. I doubt its a control channel.

Okay thats the exact same sound i heard
I thought it may have been low band truncking the signal
was never steady fading in and out.
This is the first low band activity heard for me this year
other than local school buses

I can hear Snotel data on 40.53 quite often here in Minnesota. Good propagation sounder for here. Since most Es skip single hop is around 900 to 1100 miles the transmitters in Colorado are an excellent indicator that single hop is starting up towards the west. Now if it would just start up to the south and southeast we would have interesting listening.
