BCD325P2/BCD996P2: Low Volume Level Compared To BCD996XT

On the new BCD996P2 I have the volume level is low compared to the BCD996XT that I have.
Volume control has to be set to 14 or 15 for the same volume that a 4 or 5 gives on the BCD996xt.

Is this normal for the P2?
Did I get a BAD P2?

I have both 996XT and 996P2 and the volume is the same. Have not heard that issue reported before.

Have you tired an external speaker or headphones?

The speaker could be defective, I purchased a BC785D new about 15 years ago and it had a defective speaker, I ran with an external speaker then replaced the internal speaker with a higher quality speaker and never had any problems after that.
