strange band opening over here on the east coast

29.6400 CSQ(?) ham repeater, talking about South Carolina, wasnt able to copy PL tone
33.4200 CSQ rebroadcast of NOAA weather radio, "heat index of 103"..checked local weather radio, not the same station...very weak

Yeah, 10 meters has really been open today.
Been hearing stations from Fla. to Wis.

10 has been really active, I flipped through the CB channels really quick and the noise level is nice and high as well. Not much in the world of lowband skip, and our Spanish-speaking taxi dispatcher friends in the 30-32 MHz range are nowhere to be found.

Interestingly, that 45.42 MHz Florida Department of Corrections license I mentioned in my log continues to boom in while I can't hear anything else save for the usual 27 MHz chatter.
