Lowband Popping In Northeast Arkansas:

37.26000 - Hardy Arkansas, 50-60 miles away, Clear as bell....PD Use...
42.12000 - Missouri Highway Patrol - Springfield, 400 Miles Away, Clear As Bell, PD Use
42.92000 - Highway Patrol, Missouri - Poplar Bluff District - 70 Miles Away, Clear as bell, PD Use

Can anyone tell me what type of antenna is best for skip on lowband? I have a scantenna, Will it work well?

I would recommend the Scantenna. I use a second hand Motorola Spectrum VHF highband 3db gain 146-174 MHz mobile antenna with an NMO mount and my car as a ground plane when I do DX listening on both low and high band. Works well and only cost me 5 bucks at a hamfest.

My next purchase concerning lowband is probably going to be one of these:

I've also had nearly identical results with a Wilson "Lil Wil" magnet-mount CB antenna in a pinch, it does better for lower low VHF (27-31ish MHz) when the band is open to Mexico and Central America.
