Folks,

Can anyone help ID these Lowband FM Military Towers?

36.15 -- Active Army Heliport, Multiple Lanes, "Canton? Altimeter" mentioned.
32.90 -- Army Heliport, Cleared Helo for Takeoff
40.35 -- Army Heliport, Very busy, multiple lanes and pads

I believe I identified 32.825 as Ft Rucker's Tower today... another very busy helipad.

These are probably located east of the MS....

Warm regards,

Lindsay

Here are some other logs I caught yesterday

32.90 Tower clearing A/C for takeoff
32.425 Encryption
38.30 Helo heard here
38.90 Range Control announcing temp (probably Ft Knox)
38.675 Encryption
38.70 BLUE 60 in comms reporting will be down in 15 min, wkg BLUE BASE and BLUE MAINTENANCE... sounded like Cobras

Sounds like 36.15 is also Fort Rucker, possibly another tower... Female Tower Operator gave a phone number of 255-1017, which aligns with Rucker's Prefix.

More research shows that there are 6 large active heliports at Fort Rucker.

My guess is that 32.825 is one of them, 40.35 is another, and 36.15 is one as well.

40.35 looks like could be Polk AAF
38.70 looks like could be AL ARNG in Brimingham

At least these freq's are listed as assignments in IFR Supplement

I agree, just throwing out a known within the same area. Could only come up with one lowband FM assignment for Lowe AHP @ Rucker on 46.95.
All the others were V's & U's. Sure that there's more than one FM freq in use.

The Army has Cairns AAF, Hanchey AAF, Lowe AHP, Knox AHP and Shell AHP at Fort Rucker. There are several other unnamed AHP's and AAF's also located on the Ranges at Rucker. I know of two that are located near several of the Field Artillery ranges at Rucker.
They may be identified as a FP accompanied by a Alpha Numeric Code. FP is for Firing Point. Example: FP26A. That is used as an identifier for a Range Number.

Hunt Army Heliport is no longer active.
