A State liability rant, so if the moderators need to move this post then do it.


Colorado, due to its state liability caps, and Bill Bruce laws, have but a mere pittance available to the death and dwelling liability after starting a huge forest fire in the foothills of the Front Range after an unattended state 'controlled burn' went into a full-fledged forest fire in a matter of a few hours.

Now, a year later, the state still has not even admitted full liability nor taken steps to compensate losses.

Now the Governor and the state Attorney General are under fire:

Congratulations to Marshall Zelinger and Deb Stanley for bringing more attention to the Lower North Fork Fire; the Peabody Award will just bring more deserved groups to aid the victims; and hopefully drive The State of Colorado to the correct decision.

Marshall Zelinger is a great investigative reporter. I loved to watch him expose issues when he used to work down here in Colorado Springs at KRDO.

I am glad this issue is getting the attention it deserves.
