Lots going on in Lincoln this morning. At 7:22 there was a strong arm robbery in the 1200 block of Arapahoe. Suspect described as black male wearing glasses, black leather bomber style jacket and green sweats. Also thought be responsible for a shoplifting at Super Saver at 56th and Highway 2.
In addition, an officer has located a vehicle near the airport that is thought to be responsible in some quick change scams in Lincoln. Officers surrounded location and took 2 persons into custody.
Saturday night, an armed robbery occurred around 7pm near 70th and Van Dorn. I don't know what got hit, but PD did take three into custody and were looking for another black male that had run from them. We, like Omaha, have had a string of armed robberies in the last few weeks, and three armed robberies in as many days.
On a side note, the other day I heard a Sheriff's unit ask to use channel 26 on the TRS system. The database shows this belonging to UNL PD Central, and I have copied traffic on that channel. But, I didn't hear a peep on channel 26 when the deputy asked to use it. Is it possible that there are now two channel 26's?
Update: 1:00pm another robbery just occurred on the 3000 block of O street. Suspect was described as tall black male wearing black coat, possibly driving a black colored Dodge Neon. I sure hope they catch this guy, he's been busy Sunday.
